The Best Paint for Cars
If you’re considering respraying your car or completing your own car body repair, then you are going to need the right tools for the job. There is nothing worse than getting stuck into a refurbishment project before realising you’ve used a cheap, substandard paint. We are going to discuss what the best paint is and how you can find it for your car.
Before you go anywhere, make sure you look for some car spray paints online. In all honesty it’s the cheapest and most convenient way to find what you are looking for. However, you do need to be careful. There are hundreds of online retailers out there claiming to be the best.
So how can I avoid dodgy paint re-sellers? It’s quite simple really. Make sure you do your research before you make any purchases. A good way to gauge whether an online store is legit is simply to ask friends and family if they have ever had an interaction with the company, if so, ask them what their process was like. Was the company useful? And most importantly did they have the product that you need.
Another good thing to do before you go spending your cash is you know what colour paint you need. If you are unsure, you may be able to look in your vehicle handbook (vehicle dependant, some vary). Failing that, I’m sure a local car body repair shop will be able to identify it for you, it doesn’t take too long.
Go Into Store
If you’re not too confident with buying your paints online, be sure to go into a local store. Here you can physically talk to someone who knows what they are doing and exactly what you need.
The best thing to do, is to go in with all of the information that you can gather and explain that you need a high quality paint that will last and not fade in hot conditions. However, if you’re looking to do a complete respray you may want to take a look at the RAL Paint system. This colour chart lists a number of popular colour codes and they release a “colour of the year” annually.
