Find Car Repair Shops
Unfortunately, car maintenance is one of those inevitable tasks that has to be dealt with from time to time. Finding a reliable and cost effective auto garage can be difficult, especially trying to find one that you can trust and recommend to others. This article will show you how to find car repair shops that can be trusted, recommended and efficient.
Check with Insurers
Now depending on the type of damage that your car has received, contacting your insurance provider could be an option. Most car insurance companies have a list of pre-approved mechanics and car body repair specialists that they recommend their policy holders to in the event of a major or minor accident.
However, by contacting your insurers and declaring that you have been involved in an incident could have its own consequences. If you declare that you have been involved in an accident or collision, most insurers will put that down as a claim against you and your policy. Going forward this could potentially increase your insurance premium when it is due for renewal.
Look at Local Directories
Any reputable local businesses, especially car repair shops will be listed in business directories. If you are looking for a local mechanic, try looking through the local directories first. More often than not, the local newspaper website will have a local directory that will be pretty useful.
Alternatively, you can look at the more popular directories such as Yell.com. They allow you to enter your postcode and it will return with a number of local car repair shops that are close to you. For example, if I entered my postcode of MK8 *** – I would find myself with a list of car body repair shops in Milton Keynes.
Friend and Family Recommendations
Friends and family are always a good option to consider. Now I don’t know about you but I know for a fact that my family and friends would never recommend a mechanic or car repair shop that they didn’t trust. Like most businesses, they thrive off of local recommendations – speaking with your folks or a close friend is always a good option and a pretty safe bet.
Trade Associations
Like most businesses, in any industry if they want to become a recognised brand and build a strong reputation in a local area, be listed on trade associations will be crucial. There has recently been a very good website developed and launched that allows car owners to compare prices and quotes from local garages based on their search terms and requirements. A pretty simple concept, but very successful nonetheless.
The website is called whocanfixmycar.com and is a very good place to start if you are unsure of where to look first!
